Award Winners

Best New Platform

Sponsored by Caversham Buchanan Ltd

Highly commended : Elevate from Axa

Judges Comments

The judges really struggled to agree on this award. Two propositions had equal support. Both are competitively priced; one offers the adviser a huge range of wrappers, funds, asset classes and great functionality, the other offers the adviser a share of ownership, an alternative to the usual provider ownership model, and also offers a huge range of asset classes and funds.

Joint Winners:  Ascentric and Nucleus

Leading Platform-Based Adviser Business (over 10 advisers)

Sponsored by BNP Paribas Securities Services

Highly commended : Worldwide Financial Planning

Judges Comments

The winner has addressed the issue facing all larger adviser firms, that of segmenting the business according to client needs.

They have two very different models, a distribution model and an advised, wealth management model. They understand who their clients are and what the proposition should be.  The advised model is fully platform based and has a structured fee basis.

Best Investment Management Platform Proposition

Sponsored by Professional Adviser

Highly commended : SEI

Judges Comments

The winning proposition simply does what it says on the can. The proposition combines all of the benefits of a wrap platform with a clear discretionary management proposition. Investment objectives are realistic rather than very ambitious and have been attained. The judges were especially impressed with the amount of marketing support that is offered to adviser users.

Best Fund Platform

Sponsored by Morningstar

To find the Best Fund Platform, we asked advisers to vote.

Because it is a straight vote, there was no intention to have a highly commended category.

However, after a recount, there was only one vote separating first and second. Thus, we had to highly commend the platform shaded by the minimum into second place.

Runner-up : Fundsnetwork

The Winner: Cofunds
