The Logica UK Platform Awards Gala Dinner 2009
Waldorf Hilton - 23 September 2009

The most dynamic area of retail investment must be intermediary platforms. The Logica UK Platform awards dinner is the one opportunity for everyone involved in this exciting sector to meet, eat and drink too much, and celebrate success.

This was the third awards dinner, the first with Logica as lead sponsor, a relationship we hope will continue for years.

This year, there were two new awards.

Leading Innovation in Worksite Platforms – recognising the importance of technology and innovation coming together to meet the needs of both employers and employees. We look forward to the development of corporate wrap which will create even greater challenges and opportunities in this space.

The Platform of the Year award recognises contemporary excellence. The winner doesn’t have to be biggest, oldest or newest. The winner is the platform that the judges feel has achieved the most in the previous 12 months.

Once again Justin Urquhart Stewart hosted the awards ceremony with customary irreverence. Moneybox’s Paul Lewis was the guest speaker who delighted the audience with stories from his time at the BBC showing a rather more humorous side than radio 4 listeners are accustomed to.

The dinner also raised money for three charities – The British Heart Foundation, The Doorstep School in India and The Mines Advisory Group. The collection around the table raised an outstanding £2,125 – close to £10 for every guest. We are delighted to match this amount. Each charity will receive £1425. We would like to thank guests for their generosity.
